Discussion items - Chester County Planning Commission Discussion
A conversation about the development of diverse housing types in our community and the need for affordably-priced homes.
Chester County Planning Commission will discuss the historical role that diverse housing has played in the development of our local communities, and the need to plan for attractive, affordably-priced, adaptable, aging-friendly, and accessible homes for all community members.
Appearing on behalf of the Chester County Planning Commission were Chris Patriarco and Libby Horwitz who discussed how the need for housing is community specific and mixed housing is needed in Caln Township. This is based on the 2017 Caln Comprehensive Plan and the decrease of the “Nuclear Family” household and increase in 1-2 family homes. The household income in this area has not kept up with the housing costs so affordable housing is needed.
– With no further agenda items or Commission business, Mr. Thomas made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and seconded by Bill Schew. Poll of members; all ayes, motion passes 6 – 0. The meeting adjourned at 7:58 P.M.
To the best of my knowledge, this summarizes the minutes of the August 17, 2021
Planning Commission meeting.
