The Township provides weekly trash and recycling collection to residents. We also offer weekly yard waste collection 9 months of the year as well as special leaf vacuuming, chipping, and Christmas tree collections. One bulk item can be placed out for collection each week.

The Caln Township Police Department is a full time Police Department dedicated to policing with the Community. They offer a variety of services including Vacation Checks, prescription drug drop-off, and a check-in program for seniors living alone. Residents receive a bill for Trash/Recycling and Sewer service six times per year. They are also billed annually for real estate taxes which fund the Township government - check with your mortgage lender as these taxes are often paid directly from your escrow. There are a variety of payment options available including online bill pay and direct debit. Learn more here

A five-member elected Board of Commissioners (BoC) meets twice each month on township business. You can attend BoC meeting in person or online. Recorded BoC meetings are also available on YouTube. The Township also has a variety of appointed groups which meet monthly:

Codes and permits are handled by the Department of Building and Life Safety. Permits are required for many home renovation projects, including installing a pool, deck, or fence, finishing a basement, or moving plumbing or electrical connections. A license and inspection is required to rent out your property.

Caln Township is endowed with a rich history - much of which can still be seen today through our many historic buildings and markers. Some township-owned highlights include the Spackman-Davis Farm property and the Caln Hexagonal Schoolhouse.

Ingleside Golf Club is a public, municipal-owned course offering discounted rates for Caln Township residents.

Caln is served by the Thorndale Fire Company and Minquas Ambulance Service.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining Township parks, roads, and facilities. They conduct the annual leaf-vacuuming and chipping programs as well as Township snow plowing, paving, and road treatment. They are also responsible for public stormwater systems in the township.
Sanitary sewer operations are managed by the Caln Township Municipal Authority. |
