POLICE SERVICESPRESCRIPTION DRUG DROP OFF BIN You can help stop prescription drug abuse by dropping off your expired, unused or unwanted medications for safe disposal at the Caln Township Police Department or Thorndale CVS or the Wallace Ave. Rite Aid. The Caln PD in partnership with the Brandywine Health Foundation and Pennsylvania American Water have installed a Prescription Drug Drop Off Bin at the police department building. This bin affords residents in the area the opportunity to anonymously and safely dispose of unwanted and expired drugs and medication during business hours. The goal is to get these drugs safely off the streets, keeping them away from our youth and protecting our local waterways. VACATION CHECKS Residents fill out a simple form to have officers periodically check on their homes when they are out of town. Please contact the police department at the administration phone number if interested or bring in the completed form to the police station. ARE YOU O.K.? Telephone Calling System The Caln Township Police Department is very excited about a new service - ARE YOU O.K.? Our ARE YOU O.K.? Program is designed for older adults, disabled persons, people who live alone, or anyone residing in Caln Township who needs to be checked upon daily. ARE YOU O.K.? is a computerized telephone calling system offered and operated free of charge by the Caln Township Police Department. The system calls each enrolled subscriber every day of the year, at the same time each day. The time of the call is determined by the subscriber. When the subscriber picks up the phone they will hear a recorded message. If the subscriber fails to answer the phone after several attempts, or if there is a busy signal several times in a row, the system notifies the Caln Township Police Department which will then send a patrol car to check on the subscriber. Your personal information provided to the Caln Township Police Department will remain confidential. During the holidays, vacations, or any other time the subscriber plans to be away, a simple call to the Caln Township Police Department will stop the calls for as long as needed. Questions about the program can be directed to Administrative Assistant Tracey Laws by calling 610-383-1821 weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. |
