CHIPPING & YARD WASTE

YARD WASTE PROGRAM
Caln Township is pleased to offer residents the popular Yard Waste Collection Program every other Friday from 5AM - 5PM (April through mid-December). This service includes bagged leaves/grass and small branches which must be placed at the curb in biodegradable bags.  We will no longer accept yard waste of any kind at our Municipal Drive drop-off location.  Click here for Yard Waste Collection Guidelines

CHIPPING PROGRAM
The Township will continue to offer its scheduled chipping program for large branches. This service is only intended for cleaning up fallen branches in your yard and not for items cut down by a contractor. To sign up for a chipping slot, please call 610-384-0600 x140 between April 1 and April 30th for Spring chipping and between September 2nd and September 30th for Fall chipping. Fall chipping will begin on Monday, October 5th.

CHIPPING PROGRAM GUIDELINES
• All branches must be neatly stacked curbside (no cross stacking), no larger than 6” in diameter and with cut ends facing the street by the beginning of the chipping program. Road crews will not drive onto property or private lanes/road ways, nor will road crews go beyond the edge of the property to collect the branches.
• Chipping stops will be limited to 15 minutes with NO EXCEPTIONS.
• No stumps. Branches greater than 6” in diameter will NOT be accepted.
• Vines, weeds, leaves, or yard waste will NOT be collected.
• Incorrectly stacked piles will NOT BE PICKED UP.
• NO LATE SET OUTS OR OVERSIZED PILES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
• THE PROGRAM IS FOR ROUTINE CLEAN-UP AND NOT DESIGNED TO ASSIST WITH CLEARING PROPERTIES OF TREES AND SHRUBS (I.E. CUTTING TREES DOWN AND PUTTING OUT FOR CHIPPING WILL NOT BE COLLECTED).
• This program is for individual Caln Township residential properties only. A resident may use this service one time during the program period. Items collected from outside the Township or through a private or commercial operation will not be processed. In an effort to stay on schedule and in fairness to the majority of participants, NO LATE SET-OUTS OR OVERSIZED PILES WILL BE ACCEPTED! Time slots are limited, call early to reserve your spot.

LEAF DISPOSAL OPTIONS:
2026 Fall Leaf Collection
Leaf vacuuming will begin the week of October 26, 2026. Residents should rake leaves to the front of their property, as close to the road edge as possible. Leaf piles must be accessible to the leaf collection truck. Driver will not get out of the vehicle.
Please DO NOT rake leaves into the street as leaves could get washed into storm inlets during inclement weather or can freeze on the roadway as we get cooler temperatures.
  • Make sure nothing blocks access for the leaf collection truck.
  • Leave piles must not block fire hydrants, mailboxes, or streetlights.
  • Basketball courts and other items must be moved away from leaf piles.
  • Piles containing bamboo, sticks, stones, or other non-leaf materials that may damage equipment will be skipped.
  • There is no appointment necessary for this service
  • All leaves must be raked to the curb the Sunday before your scheduled week.
Township Leaf Vacuuming Begins “Week” of the Following Dates:
  • Week of October 26th and Week of November 9th for the Monday and Tuesday Trash Customers.
  • Week of November 2nd and Week of November 16th for the Wednesday and Thursday Trash Customers.
  • Week of November 30th and Week of December 7th (Township Wide Clean Up)
  • There is no appointment necessary for this service.
  • All leaves must be raked to the curb the Sunday before your scheduled week.
  • To stay on schedule and in fairness to the majority of participants, NO LATE SET-OUTS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
A.J. Blosenski Leaf Bag Pick-up
In addition to Township leaf vacuuming, A.J. Blosenski will again be collecting leaves that are placed at the curb in Biodegradable bags as part of the Yard Waste Collection Program. See calendar here for your scheduled collection days.
