Caln Township Open Records Policy
Caln Township shall afford any individual or business the opportunity to examine or copy public records as defined and governed by the Right to Know Law, 65 P.S. § 67.101, et seq. Every record of the Township is presumed to be public unless a record is (1) exempt under the Right to Know Law; (2) privileged; or (3) exempt from disclosure under State or Federal Law. The Township is not required to create a record that does not currently exist and all records shall be provided in the format maintained by the Township. All requests for access to public records shall be submitted to the Township's Open Records Officer on the Pennsylvania Uniform Right to Know Request Form or via the web form on the Caln Township website. The Township will respond to written requests which have been submitted by web form, facsimile, email, regular mail and/or in person. All requests must be sufficiently specific to enable the Township to ascertain which records are being requested. Records shall be available for public access only during the Township's normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A fee will be charged for copies of records in accordance with the fee structure as described on the website of the Office of Open Records. An appeal of a denial of a Right to Know Request may be submitted to the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records: [email protected] Appeals may also be submitted via fax (717-425-5343) or postal mail to: Office of Open Records 333 Market Street, 16th Floor Harrisburg, PA 17101-2234 |
