PennDOT has taken a step toward making bicycle-based transportation easier for PA residents. The newest move involved launching a pilot program to evaluate the long-term maintenance cost of adding bike lanes to roads throughout the state. Caln Township is one of three locations where new bike lanes have been added for the pilot. PennDOT added bike lanes along Lincoln Highway between the Coatesville/Caln line and the Thorndale Train Station as well as on two other state highways in Montgomery and Delaware Counties. |
With the prospect of more cyclists appearing on Township roads, driver are encouraged to review state laws and bicycle safety information. The videos below are a great place to start! Remember, cyclists have just as much right to use the roads as drivers. If you're in a car, you must allow for 4 ft between your car and any cyclist you're passing.
