Caln Township is required to submit a Pollutant Reduction Plan to the DEP. The plan details projects that will reduce the stormwater discharge of nutrients and/or sediment into specified local waterways.

This Pollutant Reduction Plan is available for public viewing here at Calntownship.org or in person at the Township offices at 253 Municipal Dr. Thorndale, PA 19372.  Public comments on the plan are welcome until August 25th, 2017 and should be directed to:

Comments will also be accepted at the Caln Township Board of Commissioners meeting on August 10th, 2017 at 7:30 pm.

On Tuesday, August 1st, 2017, Caln Township and neighboring communities are invited to join forces with communities nationwide for the 34th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Caln Township Police Department.  The annual event will involve over sixteen thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and Military bases around the world.  Caln Township was awarded national recognition 3 years in a row by the NATW for outstanding participation, including “Rookie of the Year” honors in 2014.
                National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in local anticrime efforts; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and to send a message to criminals to let them know that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
                Residents in Caln Township are urged to band together in a township-wide act of solidarity aimed at bringing together citizens, police, neighborhood groups, town watch and public officials. The Caln Township Police Department will be hosting a community event on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 from 6:00pm to dark at Caln Municipal Park on Municipal Drive in Thorndale for an evening of crime prevention and public safety awareness, as well as attractions for the entire family.

​The event is made possible by our many generous sponsors and will feature guest speakers and a 5k charity run & fun walk organized by the Chester County Running Store with proceeds benefiting the Coatesville Youth Initiative. In addition there will be police, K9, and fire department demonstrations, community safety information, a prescription drug drop-off station, live band, food and refreshments, games, gifts and entertainment for the kids, concluding with a spectacular fireworks show! Please spread the word to friends and family to join us in our celebration, and support the community in our efforts to promote crime and drug prevention awareness.
