- 2019 Group Trips – Our June 1 trip to NYC went very well. We definitely have enough parking at the Township building for one bus, and probably have enough for two buses. The Atlantic City trip is the next one in October. December 7th will be another NYC on your own trip. Ticketleap worked really well for selling tickets. We should open up online registration soon.
- Egg Hunt Recap – We had many volunteers which was a huge help. If anything, we should probably buy more eggs next year (we purchased 2000 and stuffed over 1000 existing eggs). Next year we should re-think the “toy” stuffed eggs. Most kids don’t like them. Getting the pre-stuffed eggs is the same cost as buying candy to stuff in the eggs from previous years. Abbey will look to see if there are eggs on sale because we could start stuffing at any time. We have plenty of caution tape for next year to rope off the areas.
- Caln Pride Day Recap – The group agreed that having clean-up day once per year is not enough. We discussed having monthly walks, an “adopt a highway” type program, or even an “adopt a month” clean-up program for organizations and businesses. Abbey’s Girl Scout troop have been having a good time cleaning up the park. We should get involved with the #Trashtag challenge. For Pride Day, we discussed ordering pizzas, if we can get them donated. Everyone loved the t-shirts that Noel Bernard donated in multiple colors.
- Summer Series – The first event is June 21st. We could use a few extra volunteers. The group should arrive between 5:30 and 6pm to set up. Abbey will look for a playlist – Angela suggested putting Spotify on “Retail Mode” to avoid cursing. The bounce house will be there with an attendant. Big Boize BBQ and Rita’s will be there selling food. Abbey will make more bubble solution and found a bin to use for popcorn bags. Abbey will make a “free popcorn” sign. Abbey will look into the requirements for adding a beer garden to our events. Abbey’s Girl Scout troop will be collecting donations for Bridge Academy at the July 12th concert.

- Beaver Creek Trail update – The first public meeting regarding the trail study was held last week. The weather was terrible, but a number of people still attended and provided lots of great feedback. Abbey will see if the Brandywine Conservancy want to come to the Summer Series to talk about the trail project.
- Rotary Club of Downingtown-Thorndale are looking for volunteers for the Mac and Cheese Cook-off
- Pumpkin Race – Abbey will see if anyone wants to sponsor a pumpkin race and do some more research about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPg51y-HgeY
