3/4/2019

Parks & Rec Minutes
March 4, 2019 @ 7pm
  • Called to Order – 7:10pm
  • Present: Chris Cordisco, Angela Cordiso, JoEllen McBride, Brett Klukan, Abbey Swan; Absent: Josh Young
  • Approved 2/4/2019 minutes
  • Election of Officers
    • Secretary – Brett Klukan
  • Old business
    • Open positions: There are two vacancies remaining on the Parks and Recreation Board.
    • 2019 Group Trips: Contracts received for bus trips (NYC June 1st, Atlantic City October 5th, and NYC December 7th). Abbey booked two buses for the NYC trips and one for Atlantic City. Abbey will set up a Ticketleap account for online ticket sales (fees will be an additional $3 online vs in person). She will reserve a number of tickets to sell in person for those who prefer that. The group agreed to stick to $45 for the NYC trips. We won’t be doing any more reservations without payment for tickets – the online payment option should make that unnecessary anyway. Abbey will look into parking options for the bus trips – maybe Reeceville Elementary.
    • Egg Hunt: Abbey will ask about getting the bunny costume from the Fire Company. Brett will be the bunny again. We’re going to re-use eggs from previous years to save some money and have better candy. Andrew is helping to count/stuff the eggs. We’ll bring Tupperware to collect the empty eggs in after the event. Brett will come up with a music playlist.
    • Caln Pride Day: Noel Bernard will sponsor the event again and will buy shirts for the volunteers. Abbey will reach out to all of the schools and organizations in the area for volunteers and will create a better road map of the areas to be cleaned.
    • Summer Series: Abbey will post a survey on Facebook again for residents to select the movies. Swank.com has a better movie selection than Criterion but higher prices. The group narrowed it down to Spiderman (into the Spiderverse), Coco, Incredibles 2, Despicable Me 3, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Lego Movie 2, Paddington 2. Abbey will line up the bounce house for all three events and will investigate having the escape room from West Chester come to the July Summer Series. She will contact Mr. Rowland from Big Boize BBQ about coming to sell food.
    • Eagle Scout Project – Richard is going to begin fundraising and constructing his gaga pit for his project.
  • New Business
    • JoEllen and Brett are going to represent Parks and Rec on the Beaver Creek Trail Advisory Committee.
  • Adjournment
