April 4, 2022 @ 7pm
- Call to Order
- Roll Call - Brett Klukan, Helen Eckel-Wiener, Anne Duzan, Isabel Clark, Jane Kennedy, Liz Malone, and Abbey Swan. Guests: Tom Parr and Gary Duzan.
- Public Comment – The group thanked Tom Parr for his help fixing up the PULL stations. They look great!
- March 7, 2022 minutes approved.
- Clean Up Day Recap – We delayed from Saturday to Sunday due to weather and still drew a good crowd of volunteers. We picked up 150+ bags of trash, plus mattresses, tires, and all kind of other stuff. This year we had a map and assigned people specific areas, which worked well, but we need to remember that high schoolers and kids need to do the areas adjacent to the township building (instead of driving to their location). Midway gift cards worked well again – but they’re not open on Sundays, so people couldn’t go directly after the clean up. Holding it in March instead of April was smart – it was much easier to see the trash. We had more volunteers than usual due to recruiting more groups – JROTC from Coatesville, scout troops, County Parole Officers, and Giant staff members.
- Riparian Buffer Planting Recap – We had lots of great volunteers from Giant, scouts, and JROTC. Super well attended event and we planted 475 trees. Lots of the kids were really into it. Abbey will see if we’re able to do a tree giveaway for the public using 10 million trees trees. Mike, the manager of the Thorndale Giant would be happy to support any grant applications we submit for Giant grants.
- P.U.L.L Stations Update – Tom did a GREAT job of cleaning up the two PULL stations that were given to us by AHHAH. Liz has created some stencils of the hexagonal schoolhouse and our local Caln geese to stencil on one of the boxes. She’ll take one of the PULL stations home to do some stenciling. Helen is going to do some dogs on the other PULL station for Lloyd Park.
- Summer Series Update – We’re going to add a second movie on July 1st. We narrowed down the movie list to post on Facebook for voting:
- Hook
- Trolls World Tour
- Peter Rabbit 2
- Raya
- Sing 2
- Tom & Jerry
- Paw Patrol
- Easter Egg Hunt – 4/9/22 – We will be at the park around 11 to set up for the egg hunt. Abbey made some eggs with papers inside for kids to win a prize. There’s an area for each age group. Jane suggested that we use something other than caution tape to delineate the areas – Abbey will see what she can find. Abbey made a photo backdrop for the bunny to sit in front of.
- T-shirts and name tags – Everybody has gotten a name tag. Jane would like one for Parks and Rec. Once we have our final member added, Abbey will order both. Abbey will follow up with everyone about t-shirt sizes.
- Jane suggested designing a brochure about our events and community items for new residents. This would be great to have especially for all the new developments. Abbey’s working on a website to this effect.
