The #1 way to protect yourself and your family from the flu is to get vaccinated each year.
The Chester County Health Department is offering flu vaccinations for the entire family at schools and community sites from October through November. Clinics are open to the entire community without an appointment. Flu vaccines are also available by appointment at the Health Department.
Flu is a very serious disease that strikes even healthy people. The single most effective protection for the flu is getting the flu vaccine. It is recommended that all people aged 6 months and older receive a flu vaccine every year.
The Health Department will have flu vaccine available for people as young as six months old and special high-dose vaccine for seniors. People with private health insurance should bring their insurance card for billing. The flu vaccine will be available at no charge to children with State Medical Insurance and for all people who do not have health insurance.
Thank you to everyone who has already gotten a flu shot! Please share this information with friends, family, and co-workers who still need to get vaccinated.
