Now Seeking Boards and Commissions Volunteers

Caln Township is looking for new volunteers for our Boards and Commissions! The current vacancies are:

- Historical Commission: Two positions available, terms 2026 - 2030
- Municipal Authority: One position available, term 2026 - 2030
- Parks & Recreation: One position available, term 2026 - 2030
- Planning Commission: Two positions available, terms 2026 - 2029
- Zoning Hearing Board: Three alternates, terms 2026 - 2027

Applications must be submitted by 4:30 PM on Wednesday, December 10th as they will be reviewed at the Board of Commissioners meeting the following evening (Thursday, December 11th).

2026 Budget Presentation

The public is invited to review the proposed 2026 budget for Caln Township. The Board of Commissioners will vote on the budget at their next meeting on Thursday, December 11th at 7:30 PM. The meeting will be held at the Caln Township Municipal Building (253 Municipal Drive, Thorndale, PA 19372).

Caln Township Tree Lighting 2025

Caln Township Parks & Recreation is excited to announce our Township Tree Lighting! Join us on Sunday, December 7th at 5:00 PM for an evening full of fuzzy feelings, twinkling lights, beautiful performances!

There will be:🎼Caroling by the Coatesville High School Meistersingers
👯‍♂️Dance performance by Shannon Cooper's Dance Academy, LLC.
🏠Tours of the Hexagonal Schoolhouse (led by the Caln Township Historical Commission)
🔥Bonfire with S'mores
🎅and a special visit from Santa (thanks to the Thorndale Fire Company)
We will also be holding a collection for new and unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, and old and broken holiday lights for recycling to give to Harris Metals, LLC!

We hope to see you there!

Olive Street Detour Between S. Caln Rd to 13th Avenue Starting November 24th, 2025 to February 2026

Between S. Caln Rd and 13th Avenue, Olive Street will be closed for a water line installation for Pennsylvania American Water. A detour will be in effect starting Monday, November 24th through February 2026 for this construction. The detour hours are from 8 AM - 4 PM. Heavy traffic is anticipated, but school buses are able to access the street as needed during this time.

Holiday Decorating Contest 2025

OPEN TO ALL RESIDENTS IN CALN TOWNSHIP
REGISTRATION IS FREE
It's time for the Holiday Decorating Contest, sponsored by Caln Township Parks and Recreation and Hatt's True Value Hardware! Participants are required to have their lights and animation in operation between 6:00PM and 9:00PM Thursday, December 18th for judging purposes.

Parks and Rec volunteers will select the best house in each of five categories: "Best Use of Lawn Ornaments," "Best Use of Lights," "Best Multimedia," "Best Use of a Small Space," and "Classic Holiday." We will also have a "Residents' Choice" Category (winner selected via vote on Facebook). Winners will receive a $25 gift card to Hatt's True Value and special award ornament.
Businesses are also highly encouraged to enter!

Please complete the form below to register for the contest. Please note that last year's winners will NOT be eligible to win this year, but we encourage them to participate and be added to the map for people to admire their amazing efforts. Sign ups close on Monday, December 15th.

PennDOT to Continue Work on the U.S. 30 Sinkhole Remediation Project

PennDOT announced that the U.S. 30 Sinkhole Remediation Project will now begin on Monday, November 10th and run through Friday, November 21st. There will be weekday lane closures from 9 AM - 3 PM in both directions between Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) and U.S. Business 30 (Lancaster Ave).
