Fall Riparian Buffer Tree Maintenance Day

10/20/2025

Join us as we continue to take care some of the 800+ trees that Caln Township has planted over the past few years! In the morning from 9 AM - 12 PM, we will be at Lloyd Park and then moving to Beaver Run Knoll in the afternoon from 12 PM - 3 PM. We will straighten tree tubes, remove weeds, mark any trees for replacement, and admire the amazing progress these seedlings have made!

Participants are recommended to bring work gloves and a willingness to get a little muddy! This volunteer opportunity will be held rain or shine, and is probably best for adults and older kids!

Temple's Well Water and Children's Health Paid Study - Seeking Volunteers!

10/9/2025

Picture
Researchers at Temple University are looking for families who drink water from a private well for a paid study, and they are just 25 participants short of reaching their goal of 815! They are interested in keeping children safe from illnesses that can be spread by drinking water from private wells. Families will receive a free whole-home UV water treatment system (value of device + installation = $1,000) and can participate from home.

To be part of this NIH-funded study, families must have a child three years old or younger and live in select Pennsylvania or New Jersey counties.
For more information, visit their website at www.wettrial.org, call them at (215)204-5124, or email them at [email protected]

Fire Prevention Week - October 5th through October 11th

10/6/2025

October 5th through 11th is Fire Prevention Week, and this year's theme is "Charge into Fire Safety"!

One of the most important things that we can do to prepare ourselves in the case of a fire is have an established evacuation route/escape plan in our home or business. Having an established plan and route out of the building will keep everyone safe and may help to diffuse any panic and confusion in the moment. Click on either image below to download both worksheets!

The Thorndale Fire Company and Caln Firefighters offer free assistance when planning an escape plan for your business! To learn more about this and other services, please click here.
