Access the links mentioned in the newsletter here: Winter Sowing Workshop Now Hiring: Fire and Rescue Professionals NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of Caln Township will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at the Caln Township municipal building located at 253 Municipal Drive, Thorndale, PA 19372 to consider the conditional use application filed by Sheetz Inc. (the “Applicant”). Applicant is the equitable owner of the 75,884 square foot property located at 3807 E. Lincoln Highway in Caln Township, also identified as Chester County Tax Parcel No. 39-4H-24 (the “Property”). The Property is located in the TV-1 Thorndale Village Zoning District. Applicant seeks to demolish the existing Rite-Aid building and develop the Property with a 6,139 square foot Sheetz convenience store, with drive-through window, 6 gasoline pumps under a canopy, 43 off-street parking spaces, unloading zone, signs and trash enclosures. Applicant seeks conditional use approval pursuant to Section 155-69 of the Caln Township Zoning Ordinance to build the convenience store and Section 155-79 to build the commercial drive-through. Applicant also seeks the Board’s approval of the design of the gasoline canopy which is not a peak roof pursuant to Section 155-69.C(4). Applicant also seeks the Board’s approval of the architectural façade of the convenience store which is proposed to be predominantly brick façade with the base and entrance features using stone pursuant to Section 155-172.B.

Caln Township Receives $472,500 in Grant Funding from DCNR for Development of the Beaver Creek Trail1/14/2026
We are excited to announce that this week, Caln Township received grant funding from DCNR for $472,500 for the development of Segment 5 of the Beaver Creek Trail👏
This grant will go towards developing the section of the trail that will run from Mary Street Field in Downingtown Borough to Lloyd Park. Included in the construction will be stormwater management measures, pedestrian bridge, landscaping, ADA access, project signage, and other related improvements. This, along with the $250,000 Open Space Preservation and Park Improvement Grant awarded to Caln from Chester County Government in February, mark a huge milestone for the creation of this trail! Beaver Creek Trail is planned to be a three-mile long trail between Downingtown and Thorndale, helping to facilitate better pedestrian and bicycle travel. This trail is also represents the future of the Chester Valley Trail. Thank you to Senator Katie Muth, Rep. Dan Williams , and Rep.
