  • Old business
    • Egg Hunt Recap – Definitely our largest turn out ever! Despite hiding 2,600 eggs, some kids didn’t find any. There were at least 250-300 kids. Everyone was well behaved and everyone had fun. The bunny photo booth was very popular and the Guess the Peeps station was a hit. We did finish set up pretty early, but we had a lot of extra volunteers, including Dawn and Patty from the Historical Commission, Carol Tritt, Don Vymazal, as well as Chrissy from the Lions Club and an NHS member - Matt. The weather was beautiful and the Facebook ad did really well. Next year maybe we should advertise a little less (the Facebook add had 800 responses) and hide additional eggs (4000 was suggested). There were too many kids waiting, so we should add additional activities – art table, touch a truck, games, bubbles, etc. We should take out the numbered eggs because they confused people.
    • Art in the Park Update – events have been scheduled starting in May. The flier is being distributed. The first dry run will be unannounced but take place earlier in May. Abbey also made a yard sign to put out when the event is actually taking place. Liz asked for one additional sign with an arrow to direct people. P&R members are welcome to attend to help out.
    • Summer Series Planning details – For the first movie/martial arts/pizza party event Abbey will announce the martial arts demonstrations over the speakers, but the presentations will be fairly informal, with other activities going on as well. We’ll have them do demo’s near the movie screen set up (but far enough that cords aren’t an option). Brett suggested having some type of environmental education present about turtles as well. We’ll look into some options.
    • Clean Up Weekend update – We verified the shift captains and distributed supply boxes to them. Sunday shifts haven’t been very popular, so maybe next year we should just go back to one day.
  • New Business
    • Helen’s Watershed Congress presentation recap – Helen presented about Civic Engagement and Environmental Protection, specifically representing Parks and Rec boards the ways they can work on environmental issues. Abbey discussed a new Sustainability Task Force that the township is considering forming. We looked through Helen’s terrific slides and a take-away was that compared to the other municipalities, Caln is really on the ball!
    • Abbey updated the group – the BoC last week signed off on funding for the remainder of the engineering for Beaver Creek Trail segment 5. We’ll be able to apply for construction grants next spring!
    •  We also discussed the issue of the missing trash can lids. Abbey will discuss solutions with Public Works.
  • Adjournment
